hello, I have nearly completed my kuehn family history (back to 1811 at least). There are still a few thing I need help with, so if any of the following sounds the least bit familiar feel free to email me at
ok, Frederick A. Kuehn was born in Culten, Saxony on Aug. 11, 1811.He was taught the family trade of weaving. In 1831 Fred and his brother Carl L. Kuehn came to America and probably arrived in a port in Virginia. Then they traveled to Jefferson co. Ohio where they applied for citicenship in 1836.They then moved on to Jefferson co. Kentucky where their citicenship was approved in 1842?. After this Fred and his brother split up and no one in my family knows anything more about Carl.Fred moved to Terre Haute, Indiana. Well, the story goes on and on down to my generation. If you are interested or think we may have a link just e mail me. One other thing I can't seem to figure out is this:Someone named Carl Trougott Kuehn stayed back in Culten as evidenced by letters sent to him in Culten, Saxony during the 1830's-1850's.I don't know what the relation is or if/when he came to america.
Well, thanks for listening to my rambling on my family and I hope I can help you, or you can help me.
P.S.Sometime prior to 1840 we changed our name to Kean
