After even more research, here are my final thoughts:
1804 – Marriage to Bathsheba Barrett Kuykendall Oxford. There are other sources for dates of marriage for Bathsheba and Abraham to include 1754, 1765, and 1769, however, the dates of the children’s birth’s and the census record for 1800 make these seem unlikely. At the time of there marriage, it has been said that Bathsheba was a widow with four sons: Jacob, John, Simon and another Jacob. It has also been said that the four sons belonged to Abraham, which would explain why there was a 2nd son named Jacob (it was common for children to be named after a deceased elder child). Bathsheba is sometimes listed as Bathseba, and it is also possible that her surname was Thomas, as a Bathsheba appears in the Thomas family records, however there is no documentation as yet to prove that she was actually of that family.
