I have been researching the 'LeBars' in Onario and although I haven't come across these particular names I have collected quite a bit of data.
The spelling doesn't seem to be relevant. The same family members have altered it on a whim and of course literacy is a major problem.
I believe that there were two groups of 'LeBars' who came to Ontario.
1. Probably came from upstate New York or Vermont to the Eastern Townships ofQuebec. They seem to have come about 1790 and have at least some connections to the Loyalists. I expect that they aredescendants of the Huguenot brothers who settled in the Philedelphia are about1730. These people are not the QuebecFrench name LaBarre dit Genest. Some, later came to the Whitby Twp. area ofOntario. I belong to this group.
2. Are descendants of Andrew who fought inthe war of 1812 and settled aroumd the western end of Lake Ontario. I understand that Andrew is a known descendant of the above brothers.
If you have anymore clues, I would be glad to look through my data.
