I happened to get a little interested in genealogy a few years ago, and was lucky enough to be able to trace my paternal line (not the whole thing, just where the last name came from) from bits and pieces of other people's genealogy Web pages.
Unfortunately, I've lost the paper I wrote it all down on, and some of those pages are missing.
What I've got from what I _can_ find on the Web, and what I remember is:
Antoine De La Cour 1675-? m. Francoise DuClos Nicolas Lacour I 1699-1761 m. Petrona Perinne Brette Nicolas Lacour II (aka Nicolas Colin) 1740-? m Magdeleine Armant Cyprien Lacour I 1778-1825 m. Genevieve Joffrion Cyprien Lacour II 1797-1856 m. Celeste Berza Alphonse Lacour 1824-? m. Julie Decuir Marcelin Lacour 1847-? (or Marcellin) m. Marie Louise Gremillion ????? ????? (?) Henry Marcelain Lacour 1904?-1966 m. Mary Agnes Keefe Henry Marcelain Lacour Jr 1928-1997 m. Margaret Anne McKeon Charles Henry Lacour 1956-present (me)
I remember noticing Marcelin because of my father and grandfather's middle name. "Marcelin" is almost certainly the correct spelling but at least one record I've found on him spelled it with two "l"s and my father and grandfather added the "a".
From the ages and a vague recollection that Marcelin was my grandfather's father, I'm fairly sure I'm only missing one name/generation. (Although, as indicated, there might be two.)
I cannot find _anything_ that says what children Marcelin had, nor have I been able to find anything on the Web about my grandfather. (Did find death records for him and my father, but since they were social security, I'm pretty sure *his* father won't be in them.)
