An interesting story pasted down by family: 2 of Louie Lafave's (Safronia's siblings) children were in the woods playing and did not return. They were later found floating in a lake holding hands. Their deaths appeared to have been caused by the indians. I don't know when this occurred, though. I believe the family migrated to northern WI from Canada about 1840-1850's.
Louie was a surveyor in WI. His wife died at age 49 of TB. Again, I don't have her name, etc.
I hope this helps. Sorry I don't have more, I've just started researching this line.
Good luck in your search.
