I was recently visiting the Clyde, Ohio area and went to two cemeteries there looking for Ray/Bush ancestors and stumbled upon several LeFevers. These graves are all in Sandusky County.
There was a really beautiful monument in black on a white base that looked like a chess pieces and had "LeFever" engraved on it.My mother could see the "LeF..." and continued on around to find the rest. The spelling was really unusual to find. These LeFevers were J.D. (probably Jacop) 1838 to 1917.His wife Neal, 1840 - 1892.There was also a Jennie LeFever (1842 - 1914) wife of Monroe Lee (1842 - 1928).
Also, in the McPherson Cemetery (in honor of General McPherson, Civil War Hero) another lovely monument to the LeFevers.Helen M. (1889 - 1960), A.M. (1879 - 1967), Col. W.G. (1836 - 1914...GAR flag, 1861-1865, Civil War) and Mary E. (1844 - 1926).
On the top of the hill by the monument to McPherson there was a really worn stone for Jacob LeFever d. either 11/1(8?)/1811 or 1844 with a 1776 flag next to it.Someone there maintains the flags for American war veterans.
