Looking for anyone connected to or with records pertaining to a John Lafferty who married Mary McConkey Neer Allen, widow, some time after 1876.
Mary McConkey was the first white child born in Champaign County. She married first Jonathan Neer, who died soon after. She married second in Clark County on Nov. 29, 1846, to Washington Allen. They were the parents of Nancy Altarm Laura Joseph Calvin Eliza Annetta William M. John H. Edward Everett
Nancy & Laura were both born in Champaign County and died young. They are buried there.
Joseph Calvin grew to manhood, married in Benton Co., MO, and eventually settled in Twin Falls, ID.
Eliza died young and is most likely buried in Champaign County.
Annetta died three days after her father in 1875 in Benton Co., MO.
Eliza died at one year and one day.She is buried in Logan Co., I think.
Edward grew to manhood, married in Benton Co., MO, and eventually settled in Modesto, CA.
John H. died in November 1877, but where is not known.
Supposedly Mary married a third time to a John Lafferty and they are buried near Mechanicsburg, according to an old family letter I've just read.
I don't know when Mary returned to OH from MO, except of course that it would be after Washington's estate was settled in early May 1875.Obviously her subsequent marriage to John Lafferty was after that.I don't know exactly where the marriage took place, either.
Mary & Edward were my great-great-grandparents.I've made contact with the McConkey branch of the family and they have no information either. The Allen branch has been my brick wall for 20+ years.Help!!
Thanks in advance for any information anyone can give me.
