Hello Bill,
My great, great Grandfather, Pat Lynch Married a "Higgins girl".At this time I do not have her first name. They had a daughter Bridget Lynch.Pat left Ireland and came to the states and ended up in Chicago. He died before he could send for his wife and daughter. His widow then married a McDonnell and had several children. The names of which I know are: Nora, Winnie and Peg and are Bridget's half siblings.Bridget was not raised in the McDonnell home for very long and was sent to live with her mother's Father (Pat Higgins).Later Bridget moved to the States and met James Michael Lally and lived on Cedar street in Waltham, Ma (that house was sold in the 40's during the war).I do not have the exact year of death, but Bridget died in the late 30's.(Bridget went by the name Dhelia). The relation to John Lally the inventor:John is James Lally's youngest brother and was the last of the "Lally" boys to come to the states. My grandfather (John F Lally, not the inventor, but was named after him) grew up in that house.I have been told that when John (the inventor) first came to the states, he lived with James and his family for a short period of time.I have also been told that as James and Dhelia's family came to the U.S. they also stayed at the house on Cedar street. They also had family on Muldoon’s court which is off of Calvary street and almost at the end of Cedar street last name Banks. I hope this helps.Do any of the McDonnell names ring a bell to you or your wife?
