I have some information on Dan LAmasney - I found it while looking up Bridget Lamasney and trying to see if there was a connection to the horse family. Here is the script to a clipping from the Nashua Reporter, The (Nashua, Iowa) • 1908 • August • 13. Doesn't sound that much like suicide, incidentally.
"Horseman Commits Suicide -- Rips open abdomen with knife, probably while delerious -- Search[ers] for Dan Lamasney of the well-known Kansas City race horse firm of Lamasney Bros., who had disappeared while visiting his wife's brother in Burlington, disclosed the fact that he had committed suicide. Lamasney's body was found in a secluded hollow, the abdomen ripped open by a penknife, which was still clutch in the dead man's fingers. It is believed that Lamasney was made delirious by the heat."
If you would like I can send you a .jpg of the original article clipping.
In addition, our Lamasney's are believed to be from County Cork, Ireland.
