Oriel Septs of Ireland Project- O Loan, O Loane, Lambe
I have just launched a new geographic DNA project: "Oriel Septs of Ireland."
Because the surname of O Loane (O Luain in Gaelic) and is listed as a sept of Oriel, and that was erroneouslytranslated to Lambe, we have chosen to add Lambe to our list of surnames that are eligible for joining the project.
We are particularly looking for those Lambe families that might have come from the areas included in the Kingdom of the Oriel, which would be Counties, Armagh, Fermanagh, Louth, Monaghan, Tyrone and south Down in what is now called Northern Ireland.
Some Lambes are of English descent, which is not what we are looking for.
If you have already been Y-DNA tested at FTDNA, there will be no additional expense, because you are allowed to belong to a geographic project, in addition to your surname project.
If you have not been Y-DNA tested, you can both join the project, and order a Y-DNA test kit, from a link on our project's web site:
https://www.familytreedna.com/public/orielsepts
Or you can just google FTDNA, and do a search on Lambe, and you will find our Oriel_Septs listed there. By joining through our project, you will also be getting our group discount on the price of a Y-DNA test kit.
I do not sell test DNA kits, nor do I make any money from the sale of test DNA kits. I am strictly a volunteer for the Oriel Septs of Ireland DNA Project.
Thank you,
