I wrote to a Marie Lamberson in Wheaton, MO several years ago and received a letter from her daughter, Anna Lamberson Hughes.Marie is deceased. She gave me the following information.
Anna's grandfather was Phelps Lamberson and lived in the
Rocky Comfort area.He was a carpenter and furniture maker. His first wife was Eva ? and they had 5 children, all are deceased. His second wife was Laura Yaunce Chenoweth and they had three boys.Anna's father was one of the boys and named Earl Lamberson.Earl was the postmaster at Wheaton, MO for 30 years.Anna worked as a clerk in Wheaton for 20 years and then after her father's death, she become the postmaster for 11 years and retired in 1989.Earl and Marie had 2 children, Anna and a boy named James Phelps Lamberson, who is deceased.James had one son and one daughter, both living in Indianopolis. The son is Andrew Lamberson and the daughter is Dr. Kimberly S Lamberson. The reason that I originally wrote Marie was I lived in that area for awhile and noticed a "Lamberson" street in Wheaton.I was curious.Anna advised me that the street should be named "Lambert" street as the Lamberts were the original founders of Wheaton.I hope this helps someone out there.
