I am a Lamme descendent of William Lamme. This William Lamme married in Augusta Co., VA, about 1745.His origins, including, date of immigration are not established. Therefore, the information that it all began in Alsace is news to me -- even if we are talking about the 1500s.
Frankly, I have never had data permitting me to connect William Lamme with any family. For that reason, the 1999 letter of Andre Lamey to this forum is of interest to me.I would like to learn of the email address of Andre Lamey.
While I have never found verification, I have some old notes from another person advising me there were three Lamme families in the area in the mid 1700s.
I shall appreciate hearing from anyone having knowledge of any of these early Lamme families in the 18th century.
A bit of background, my particular Lamme family moved from VA to Ohio about 1800.My original Ohio Wallace ancestor is buried on the original Lamme farm. These two farms remain owned by descendants of the original families. An additional Lamme farm is now owned by my family.
These properties are in Clark County, OH, near Springfield.Numerous other Lamme descendants of closely related Lammes live in nearby Greene Co. and Montgomery Co.
