Apparently there were two Thomas Lamkins. One married Eleanor ? and the other married Commegan Walker.Though they could well be the same person. The earliest thing I can see in this area is in an Order Book: Northumberland CO Order Book 1652-1657. 3/21/1655, 86, Sparacio 62 - Thomas Lampkin on a jury.
Cross migration between New England and Virginia in the early days before the English Civil War occurred more often than one would think.
After the unpleasantness of 1861-65, Virginians in general avoided linking themselves with the Mayflower or anything else in Massachusetts.
Lamkins from Westmoreland were definitely in Bute Co., NC in the 1760's.
