I am the daughter of Kenneth Lamp, your granddad's youngest brother and only living sibling.
Yes, I know your mother..she is my cousin. I know Jenny (Virginia) better, we used to be very close.
I am going to try to answer several posts in this one. Grandad, Cisco Lamp died in Boone County WV, he was working on an oil rig and slipped and fell under a hugh wheel that crushed him, my father was with him and tried to get him to a hospital in Charleston, but he didn't make it.
Uncle Hayward is right about them coming THROUGH Pa., they were in Lancaster Pa. at one point, but moved on into Ohio and northern WV. Our gggggrandfather, Joseph Lamp is buried in Belmont County, Ohio at a place called Powhatan Point. There are records of him and his Powhatan Indian wife Elizabeth and their ten children in Belmont County. If that's not enough g's someone can correct me.
However, they seemed to move backwards and forwards across the Ohio River into northern WV., Ritchie, Lewis and Pleasant Counties.
Rachael Ellen Williams Lamp was my grandmother, she and Cisco were buried originally in Sharon Cemetary at Sharon WV., but their bodies have been moved to Orgas WV. to a perpetual care cemetary. Little is known for sure of Grandma Lamp's heritage since she would naver talk about it, but I have my own specuations.
Grandma Exline was in all probability at least part N/A and part Spanish. I know from my father that she spoke a language that others did not know....probably Spanish.
We are Cherokee, Powhatan (a sub-tribe of the Shawnee), but there is no paper trail since many tried hard not to leave one.
I hope that I have answered at least some of your questions, and it's always good to hear from another cousin.
