It is nice to find another Lampton researcher. You asked about research material on John and Tabitha Lampton.I have the estate papers for both of them.John died in December 1827 in Clark Co., Kentucky and Tabitha died in April 1837 in Cooper Co., Missouri.Email me personally with your address, and I will be glad to mail copies to you.
I also have information about the Palmer family, including the following:
From:CLARK COUNTY WEEKLY, January 4, 1986--WHO WAS WHO IN EARLY CLARK COUNTY by Kathryn Owen--In the year 1833, the same year in which his father died, Joseph Palmer Jr. was stabbed to death in Winchester by Joel V. Collins. He was the great-great grandfather of Sally Rand of fan dancing fame.Miss Rand was a great granddaughter of Robert and Mary Ogden Palmer who were married in Clark County, Ky., 23 October, 1848.Her grandmother, Mollie, was a daughter of Robert and Mary O. Palmer.
The burial site of the Palmer family has never been discovered. In all probability it is one of the hundreds of pioneer graveyards which have been wantonly destroyed. [End]
You know, of course, that Elizabeth Lampton and Joseph Palmer had four children, and Elizabeth married after Joseph's death to James W. Cole and they had eight more children.
The following is all I have right now on Jesse Clawson and his family.I need to do more research on them:He is shown on the 1850 census for District No. 1, Clarke Co., Kentucky, Dwelling/Family 107, as follows:JESSE CLAWSON, age 32, farmer, RE Val $1500, born Kentucky; Catherine Clawson, age 27, born Kentucky; Almilda Clawson, age 10, born Kentucky; Isabel Clawson, age 7, born Kentucky; Martha J. Clawson, age 5, born Kentucky; John W. Clawson, age 2, born Kentucky; Richard H. Clawson, age 11/12, born Kentucky.
Catherine is buried at New Lebanon Cemetery in Cooper Co., Missouri.I have seen her grave, but I do not believe Jesse is buried there, or if he is, his headstone has been lost or possibly buried. He may have died in Kentucky since I show his death as 1865 and his wife did not die until 1900.
I am always happy to share whatever I have, so if I can be of further help, please don't hesitate to ask.
I would like to have information on your direct line from Jesse and Catherine Clawson, as well as any additional information you may be able to provide on Elizabeth Lampton Palmer Cole.
