I must have read the biographical information wrong.I know that my grandfather was born in Nova Scotia in Bridgewater, I believe.I know that he had a brother named Alfred. His wedding date to Charlotte Cook took place in 1887 at her home and was performed by a Reverend Thomas Ballantine. My father was born in 1891 and I was born 50 years later.I teach at UMass Lowell. My mother once told me that my grandfather lived on Olive Avenue but it was in Malden, Massachusetts.I think all the variant dates come from a confusion with recording births in the 19th century when it was not required by law.My grandmother's mother was born in Alsace during a period when it was under German rule. Her married name, I believe, was Berg. [This is information I received from my stepmother, who had it from a cousin on my maternal grandmother's side, who was researching the Cook family.] Because of my parent's divorce and the fact that I was born very late in the marriage, I really know very little about my father's family other than the nuclear family.Warren Douglas Langiell died before I was born; although the exact year I don't know.My father had a sister Vera. She married a man named Fuller and had one daughter, Constance, who also married. I think it is one of those strange coincidences that you are a student at UMass Lowell.
