I seem to have neglected the obvious. You mentioned your grandfather had a brother named Alfred, that happens to be my great-great-grandfather. I never knew there was another sibling until I looked up your grandfather Warren D. Langiell's marriage record. I found that his parents are my Alfred S. Langiell and Elizabeth Ruhland. It's funny that my grandfather remembered all his grandfathers sister's, but not his brother. So I guess I can start giving you the rest of the information. Alfred S. Langiell b. April 24, 1840's (anywhere from 1840 to 1845) m. November 25, 1867 (this date was given to me, not actually found by me...this is also why I immediately counted out Warren as a child) d. May 5, 1903 in Chelsea, MA Elizabeth Ruhland b. June 17, 1834 Bridgewater, NS d. June 30, 1914 Wellfleet, MA
children: (other than Warren D. )(I think there may be more) Grace DeVere Langiell b. January 17, 1869 Bridgewater, NS m. June 3, 1893 Chelsea, MA to Elmer C. Rich d. March 26, 1945 Flora M. DeVere Langiell b. December ??, 1870 Bridgewater, NS m. July 29, 1896Boston, MA to Hawes Grouse d. ?? Alfred Reuben Langiell b. October 27, 1872 Taunton, MA (not sure how they ended up in Taunton, but thats how it went) m. June 14, 1899 Chelsea, MA to Ethrilla Smith d. October ??, 195? Milton, NH (in his summer house which is still in my family) Devilla D. Langiell b. January 22, 1876 Boston, MA m. June 14, 1899 Chelsea, MA to Landers Wallace d. ?? So there you have it... Alfred S. Langiell's parents are William George Langille and Rachel Abigail Rumnell and Elizabeth (Eliza) Ruhland's Parents names are Matthias Ruhland and Sophia Contois, German and Swiss respectively. Both are born in Nova Scotia. You can go to the Canada GenWeb project site and look up Lunenburg County Nova Scotia and look up the birth and you will find the Ruhland's and Contois'. The Langille information is all over the web because it is a popular name. So you are in my grandfather's generation, but are much younger.
