I am researching my great-great grandparents. Here's what I know. Sarah Langton (born in Ireland) came to Staten Island , NY (Castelton area) around 1860. She married William Smith (born NY) and they had 3 children: Cecelia (my great-grandmother) James Charles (died as a child) By 1870 Sarah is a widow In later life she lived on Water Street (name later changed to Alaska St)with her family and may have ran a "shoe" store. Last traced to 1900 census living with daughter Cecilia and her family (husband Richard Taylor and children Mary Gertrude, Anna Veronica and John William (my grandfather).) Assuming she died between 1900-1910 Anybody researching Irish Langtons who settled in Staten Island during that time period?? Thanks!
