I have put up on my website
http://www.costamagna.demon.co.uk/genealogy/http://www.costamagna.demon.co.uk/genealogy/ a conjectural ancestry
for George Lanphear going back to his grandfather Thomas. You can find
it on the family trees page under Miscellaneous, Clyffe Pypard family
1. The assumption is that two Richards, one the son of Thomas, and the
other the father of George are the same person. I have coloured the
link red (for danger) on my website but I fear that the family tree
will come to be regarded as authoritative since it is published on the
web.
Thanks to Paul Lanphear for pointing out that the pieces of the jigsaw
could be put together in this way.
Edward Everett Lanphere asserts without citing any evidence that the
grand-father of George was:
* called Thomas
* a Huguenot refugee
* born in the Languedoc, France
* moved to Wiltshire, England
* had sons who went to Ireland
Is there any evidence for these ideas?
