I have translated the post of October 3, 2006 by Claude Dulac for the benefit of those of you who do not understand French:
Lanteigne Found today in Quebec and New Brunswick, this name originates in Normandy ([French Departments of] Eure, Calvados, Manche). Variation: Lentaigne (14) Meaning uncertain, however several old references with a preposition (de Lanteigne)imply the name of a locality. But which one! There is a hamlet la Lentaignière at Saint-Germain-de-Tallevende-la-Lande-Vaumont (14).
