all were listed as free persons of color. Prob indian/white mix as many indians married whites and in such cases were not forced to move west with the indian removals.
Also there was a Mary Lanton who died in September 1850 of whites disease.Also a female infant 7 months died of unknown causes. My Henry Lantrum was married to a Mary DeVault. Could this have been her. Henry above was not listed with a wife and later the TN marriages in 1851 listed a Henry Lantern marrying a Lucinda COLLINS. The above Thomas married Charlotte COLLINS. They were likely sisters and this is probably how Henry above met her when living with Thomas on 1850 census.

I wonder if the first mentioned, Elizabeth Lantern/Lantrum (also seen as) ws a sister to Thomas and henry above
