My step-father was Henry Louis Lantron, Jr.,born Feb. 19, 1920, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; died March 9, 1988, Kinder, Louisiana. He was married to Margaret Sims Willis.
His father was Henry Louis Lantron, Sr., born July 17, 1890, Biloxi, Mississippi; died September 6, 1961, Kinder, Louisiana. He was married to Edna Hortense Browne, born March 7, 1895, Violet, Louisiana; died May 15, 1984, Kinder, Louisiana. They operated a seafood canning business in Palacios, Texas at one time. Edna and her sister lived in an orphanage around New Orleans when she was a child.
I would be interested in any information about Edna Hortense Browne. I believe her father's name was Chester and her mother's name was Josephine.
As I can understand, the father of Henry, Sr. was Henry Lafayette Lantron(Nov. 19,1862,Baldwin Co., Alabama-Aug. 26, 1939). He married Susan Josephine Hawkins(May 25, 1865,?Biloxi, Miss.-Oct. 20, 1923, Palacios, Texas). Any information about Susan Hawkins's parents would be welcomed. What I have gleaned, so far, is that Thomas was born in 1818 in S. Carolina and married Martha Young(born in 1822 in Alabama) in Monroe Co., Alabama.
Henry Lafayette Lantron's father was George W. Lantron, born July 4, 1814, died Aug. 27, 1893, married Canizer Jones.
Dad was very interested in genealogy and I was recently given the information that he had collected.I'm trying to add to that.
