I can trace my lineage back to Michael Lapp born in 1737, who supposedly had a brother named George and whose father was the John Lapp who died in 1793(supposedly the same Johannes Lap who many claim was aboard the Pink Mary in 1733). His mother was supposedly Mary Hockman who died in 1794. But neither of these two mention him in their wills. I also don't see any mention of a George in these wills.
I have also found a Michel Lapp, who, aboard the ship Brothers, came to America in Sept. 1752. In addition, I found that a Michael Lapp married Anna Maria Bitzer in 1753 (of whom I don't think there were any children).
But since everyone seems to think there was a father named John Lapp who also came over, I don't know whether I should be looking for a John Lapp in Germany/Switzerland/England or in the US. I did find at least 2 Johann Lapps who came to America in Oct. 1751 aboard the Janet.
I just want some hard definitive evidence on the father of Micheal Lapp so I can continue tracing my lineage. If you have any such evidence or even a few more suggestions, I would love to hear them.
