I'm happy that my last posting was helpful. I am a descendent of Elizabeth Larabee and Francois "Frank" Rivers. A book that proved helpful was 'OUR HERITAGE The Garden Peninsula Delta County, Michigan 1840-1980 Published by The Garden Peninsula Historical Society 1982 First Edition'. A section of page 213 of this book reads: The Frederick Cota (Cote) Family This man, Frederick Cota, was one of seven sons who came from St. George, Canada and first settled in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mr. Cota arrived in this area about 1869 and had the first store in Kates Bay area. It is believed that he had a brother Zephirin Cota and a sister, Angelina, who married Osia Champagne, living in the Garden area. Frederick lived near the beach, back of the old Rivers place and he married January 7, 1864 to Almyra Larabee, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Goodrow) Larabee. Almyra was born December 19, 1848 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and died January 3, 1940. Frederick Cota was born April 25, 1831 and died February 11, 1914. This couple raised five children: Frederick Jr., Cecelia, Almyra, Joseph, and Matilda.
