Hi Sandra. I am also a decendant of the Joseph Lariviere you speak of. Coincidently he is also my great-great-grandfather. I am curious to know how you branched off from him. I myself belong to the following line. Its good to know that other members of the family are trying to learn more about this man.
I went to Garden Village 2 summers ago to learn more about my tree but I was told by band members that most records were shipped off to France during the good 'ol days. I still want to go to Mattawa, Ontario and find the church that Joseph and Elisabeth were married in so I can get some papers on their marriage and kids. Peter Sr. was born there as well. He is the only child I know of that came from them. I am sure there are more but do not know their names.
Please get back to this because I really want to figure out how you fit into all of this :) Take care fellow family member :)
