Looking for Fred T LaRue's parents who came from French Canada. One census, about 1870, that says Alfred P came from Michigan and so did both his parents. All censuses after that show that he was born in New York State and his parents were both born in French Canada.Maybe Alfred Paul, Fred T's father, could have come from Fr Canada, New York State, or Michigan. He was a stone mason maybe from Aurora, NY.
Philomene, Alfred P's wife, was definitely born in Fr Canada, as were her parents: there's a Napoleon Bell listed as her father, but he may have been a brother-in-law.She came to the US when she married Alfred P in 1869. (no marriage record)
Fred T LaRue was born in Illinois (no birth record). All of Alfred P and Philomene's children were born in Illinois.
Elizabeth Bushell (spelling?), wife of Fred T LaRue, was born in Marquette, Michigan (no birth record), as were all her siblings.Elizabeth's father was born in Saxony, Germany (no birth record) and her mother, Elizabeth nee Carey, was probably born in Massachusetts (no birth record). The time frame has to be the 1840s to 1850s for them.
Sorry for the disjointed nature--all of our records are confused and incomplete.I know there's a Kentucky connection, too.My mother, Dorothy Fitzgerald, daughter of Viola LaRue Fitzgerald and granddaughter of Elizabeth Bushell LaRue, went down there when her mother was sick in the early to mid-1930s.My mother is dead and didn't talk about her family much.
