1907 photo of Laura & Ona LaShell taken in Denver, CO
I purchased the subject studio group portrait of a teenage girl, a younger woman, and an older woman taken by Post, Denver, CO.It is identified on the back of the mount:
"1907
3-generations
Eliza Moody
Laura LaShell
Ona LaShell"
The only individual that I can identify with any certainty is the younger woman, namely Laura M. LaShell (maiden name unknown), who is listed in the 1910 Census data for El Paso (resided at 139 North Florence? Street), El Paso Co., TX; the 1920 Census data for Long Beach (resided at 1039 Appleton Street), Los Angeles Co., CA; and the 1930 Census data for Elsinore Township (resided in Country Club Heights), Riverside Co., CA.She also appears in a family tree posted on ancestry.com.Born 2 Oct 1876 in NE, died 23 Jun 1936 in Elsinore, Riverside Co., CA, she married George M.LaShell, born 22 Jun 1878 in NE, died 8 Feb 1928, the son of Ben T. LaShell (-1904) and Connie (maiden name unknown).George served in the No. 1 Colo. B Infantry, and was discharged on 15 Aug 1898 at the Presidio of San Francisco, Letterman General Hospital (he filed for invalid status on 22 Sep 1899).George was employed as an agent for building/contractors supplies.
There is a web site, www.jimlyons.com, on which are posted a pair of circa 1903 studio portraits of "George LaShell of Denver and later Long Beach, California" and his wife Laura, plus a circa 1915-20 photo of the couple sitting in front of a fireplace.
