Judy, My wife's maiden name is "Lasley".i understand that the German Lasley'sare descended from Andrew Leslie, the 4th generation descendant of Bartholomew and Beatrice, the sister of Malclom IIIrd ofScotland, the children of Duncun Ist. Andrew's children and grandchildren spread like "wildfire" throughout the land area surrounding their Scotch-Irish Homeland. I have learned much of what I know about Leslie History from the Clan Lesslie Society, howbeit little as I do know on the subject. My wife and I have only been researching the Lasley geneology for a short time now, and we have few direct connections, mostly "highly suggestive" but promising.
My wife's Lasley parents and grandparents we have on record, with all appropriate documentation, but past her grandparents, nothing is, as yet, certain. Her father, James Paul Lasley, and her grandfather, Oscar Wiles Lasley, were both born and reared in Shawnee, OK; beyond Oscar Wiles, there is no, as yet, direct connection; howbeit, there is almost overwhelming evidence that Charles Oscar (or Oscar Charles) Lasley (born about 1830-1836-Lebanon, IL) is the father of Oscar Wiles Lasley. We are still attempting to uncover more sources for the possible connection between the two individuals.
In the mean time, we would like to learn as much as possible about the Lasley/Lassly/Lesly/Lesslie/etc Family. We have been told that the Lasley immigrant to the US/Colonies was from Germany, but also with Scotch-Irish origion. I hope to hear back from you soon. Sincerely, Joe Ewell,firstname.lastname@example.org
