Any Latourette take a yDNA test?
Has any Latourettes had their yDNA tested? I am curious as to what it may indicate as to our Latourette's origins. We know Jean La tourrette came from Osse, and that his family was in the area at least since the early 1500s. I sort of recall hearing from a French distant cousin that we may have come from Spain before that. All theory and not proven. Spain was under the Moors from the early 700s to the early 1600s. The reason I am asking is that I had my mother do a autosomal DNA test last year, she came up as 8.43% "Middle Eastern" which I cannot explain, thinking perhaps it may be Jewish ancestry from several distant relatives (she has a lot of German. So I had my autosomal DNA taken also, just to see if it would reflect at least 1/2 the same Middle Eastern results. It did, and more. I am 5.18% Mid. Eastern. Of course there are always +/- in either direction for each test. But what found interesting is that my mom's test has a list of possible regions of her ME ancestry, mine includes ONE extra region and that is Mozabite that is not on my mom's list. I understand that the region is in No. Africa, such as Algeria. So this may have come from my DAD and not my mom. I have few brick walls on my dad's side, taking all the lines back pretty far. All his ancestors came from Western Europe, mostly England, Holland, etc. The Latourettes are the farthest south his family originated. So seeing if anyone had a yDNA test that indicated their Latourette origins? I can ask my 2nd cousin who may be willing to do a test. His family are the only Latourettes left in my family and only found them several years ago.
