James W. LAURINE
July 21, 1920 - June 7, 2009
He was born in Seattle at the family home in Ballard and was a graduate of Ballard HS 1937. Jim attended Wenatchee Junior College and St. Mary's College for flight training while serving in the Navy.
A 55-year resident of Edmonds, Jim passed away with family at his bedside. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marge, sons Marty and Mike, daughter-in-law Carolyn and grandchildren, Alli and Jamie Laurine.
Jim was a fixture in Seattle at The Dog House restaurant from 1949-1982 and was known as the "Astute Bartender." Jim loved golf and was a junior member at Olympic G&CC after WWII and later played many rounds in Everett and Lynnwood until his health waned.
Jim's kind nature and great sense of humor afforded him many friends and much laughter.
A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 5th Avenue South, Edmonds, 425-271-1234; www.becksfuneralhome.com A committal service will follow at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances may be given to the American Heart Association or the Northwest Kidney Foundation.
