I thank you for your information, and hope that Noreen will respond with more data... hopefully a continuation of birth (and marriage) records from the Vermont side. I too had discovered the marriage date for Francois and Marie Josephe "Senet dit Sene". It came from two internet sites (LDS Family Search and the "Blanchard dit Renaud" segment of Rootsweb's Worldconnect Project), but apparently the same source, Roger Blanchard. Francois' parents were given as Francois Benoit dit Livernois, and "Josephe's" parents were Nicolas "Senet dit Sene" and Marie Charlotte Tetreau dit Ducharme. The marriage record was also with the Church records of St. Jean Baptist (Rouville, Quebec), and I hope you verify it with the original records sometime, since you were able to find some of the children. But one thing is still troubling me... if there is no indication of the name "Lucy" or "Lucinda" in all of these Canadian records, can we be entirely certain that he didn't marry a second time? There is, for example, a significant gap between the births of Sophie and Henry (according to the tremendous amount of records gathered by Bill Wolfe). If so, I still think we have the right mother for Charles who, by the way, who was still in Vermont for the births of his first three children.
