I want to thank Pat Donahoe for responding to my message about Monsignor Lavelle. I encourage anyone with information about him to contact me. Monsignor Lavelle was the Vicar of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City during the first half of the Twentieth Century. He was well known in the Catholic Church and is buried under the main altar. He was my mother's cousin. Their family was from County Mayo, but I have very few specifics about the Monsignor. When the family came from Ireland, they settled in the Scranton, Pa area. Please respond if you have any more information about him.
