Over the years I have traveled a lot, and always checked the telephone books for listings of LAWHEAD, but never had the courage to make the call. So, here is the little I can relate on my side of the LAWHEAD family.
Great-grandfather: Oliver Pawhatan Lawhead.Famility story is that his mother was a Pamunkey Indian (named Pocahontas) from the Virginia Tidewater area.Father: UNK.He spent time on both the Pamunkey reservation and with the Cherokee.Had a brother/half-brother by the name of Donavon.Apparently he moved a round a lot.I know he spent some time in Oklahoma, and died in California.
Grandfather: Earl Lee Lawhead. Lived a number of places (Indianapolis and Spencer, Indiana for example).Wife: Goldie Sedam.Grandpa also moved around a lot, did a lot of jobs (carnival, match factory, mechanic, etc).Had two sons (Oliver Lee, Earl) and one daughter (Helen). Both Grandfather and Grandmother deceased, buried in Indianapolis, Indiana (1960's)
If you have any information on this line of the LAWHEAD family, I would sure like to chat with you.
