After receiving the death certificate for my direct relative Richard Leahy who died in 1905, I have been wondering why he was in the Temora area when he died.
A bit of a search on the NSW BDM database shows a JOSEPH LEAHY dying in the same area in 1897.His parents were listed as JAMES and ANNIE.
Richard's grandfather was also JAMES, though I am unsure of his grandmother's name.I was wondering if JOSEPH may have actually been Richard's uncle, and Richard moved to Temora (from the Howlong area) after his death.
My line is as follows:
JAMES LEAHY (Irish) RICHARD LEAHY (Irish) RICHARD LEAHY (Australian) RICHARD JAMES LEAHY RICHARD GEORGE LEAHY (Grandfather) (Father) (Myself)
Essentially, if correct, this could mean that JOSEPH LEAHY may be the brother of the first RICHARD LEAHY listed above.
I will order JOSEPH's full death certificate in the coming weeks, but was wondering if anyone might be able to confirm (or disprove) this for me.
