I don't have any info for you about Robert Larned, but I am curious about one thing. I am an American descendent of William Learned, who was born sometime before 1632 and came from Bermondsey, County Surrey, England. As far as I know, no one has made a connection between this William Learned and any ancestors in England.
The book "The Learned Family in America" says only this: "Prior to September 1604, when we find a baptismal record at Ware, Hertfordshire, England, of one Sarah Leonarde, daughter of William Leonarde, in spite of repeated search, no records under any similar name have been found. The origin of the Learned family is not known" (p. vi-vii).
Can you shed any light on this mystery? Do you have any idea if these two Learneds, William and Robert, might in some way be related?
