Gloria, I'm very excited that you've been working on the Leasure Family. We know that there are tons of variation in the spelling and mine happens to be Leazer.I've been working with another Leazer/ar family researcher and have found your post very interesting. We believe that our line starts with Joseph Lazear that naturalized in Maryland in 1721.He had several sons, one being John.It was written in a memoir by a family member that John Leazer settled in Rowan County NC in the late 1700's descended from Joseph. Joseph>John I>John II (born a. 1753). John has several sons also, and I descend from John III. John III married Elizabeth Coleman in 1801.Also, the 1850 census says that John III was born in Pennsylvania. His brothers also state as such. Now, the keyword here is "believe".We have been working diligently to find concrete evidence. And I'm hoping you can help.If you have any information that might prove or disprove our assumption, I would be happy to hear from you.
