VAN BUREN - Anita H. LeBrun, 94, died Jan. 26, 2010, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Van Buren, the daughter of Emile and Emma (Lapointe) Violette. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Richards Pharmacy, Van Buren. In 1937, she married Gilbert LeBrun, a marriage that lasted 51 years until his death in 1988. She worked along with her husband at Hammond Hotel, Van Buren, and was also the owner and operator of Anita's House of Gifts boutique on Main Street, Van Buren, for many years until their retirement and relocation to Florida. She also worked at Samoset Resort, Rockport, during the summer months. She was a member of Friends of the Library at AJ Morneault Library, Van Buren, and a former member of St. Leonard (New Brunswick) Curling Club. Anita loved to golf, skate, read, play the organ, knit, crochet and was also an accomplished seamstress. She is survived by one brother, Gilbert Violette and his wife, Edna, of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Gilbert, she was predeceased by five brothers, Leon, Lawrence, Don, Romeo and Michael Violette; two sisters, Stella Lombard and Hilda Violette; and her only godchild, Cary Violette. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass to be celebrated 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
