I have had a huge brick wall reseaching my mother's family. Her father was a Michaud and according to his death certificate his father was Frank E Michaud and his mother was Julia Le Brun.Julia was born in New York.Something that I found (can't find it now) said the city was something like Cann or Carr...it was not totally readable.
Recently, I was searching on Ancestory.com and found Frank E Michaud in the 1890 Voter Registration for Chicago, IL.On a whim I put in LeBrun and found three. One of those, Louis LeBrun lived at 4245 Lake Street.I went back and looked at Frank Michaud and he lived at 4241 Lake Street.
I don't think this is coincidence.I believe that Louis is related to my grandmother, Julia LeBrun.I just don't know how.I have no age for Louis but according to the registration he lived in Chicago, Cook County for 3 years and in Illinois for 36 years. This means he came to Illinois about 1852.Louis was also born in New York.
Frank Michaud lived in Chicago, Cook county for 4 years and came to Illinois in 1844.
Both Michaud and LeBrun registered to vote on Oct 9, 1888. LeBrun was not naturalized but was qualified to vote.
Julia LeBrun according to something I found was born about 1845 somewhere in New York.
