Hi Derek.
We have met many years ago when I was a young boy, in Knaresborough I think. My father is Peter Leckie. Today is his 81st birthday and we were talking earlier this evening about the new book about Dr Walter Leckie and how Audrey Leckie (Robert's widow) has managed to stay close to all the recent research.
I have spent the last few hours looking at all the entries on the geneology site relating to Dr Walter and am really excited that so much is known. I will also email Eduardo de Lobo as I am the same relation to Dr Leckie as he is. I'm not sure what relation that makes me to him.
I am trying to get as much information together as I can so would be greatful of any help/copies of letters or documents etc.. It seems like the family tree is quite well mapped out now, so much of the research will alredy have been done.
I am now 39 yrs old, living in Newark, married with 2 young kids (India & Felix). Mum and Dad seperated 8 years ago but are both well and still living in Yorkshire. Sue is still in Switzerland and has 4 kids. You may have heard that Nigel died a couple of years ago. He was never married and had no kids.
I'd be interested to hear from you and get copies of any info you may have on the family. I hope to get hold of a copy of the recent book but apart from that all I have is an old picture of the Dr and a silver cigerette case which was given to Vivien by his mother (your grandmother) in 1929 with the Leckie crest on it.
Hope to hear from you soon
Regards
Justin
