Hello Steven, I hope this thread is still good and you get this...I will try your email address as well. I am on the same track as you and I hope we are heading the right direction! I believe that my husband's ancestor was a sister to your Thersa Sarah and Julia. My husband's great great grandmother was Susan LaClare/Claire who received some land in the Half Breed Tract in Rulo Nebraska. She married Eli Plante and had one child who survived to adulthood after Susan died at an early age in Rulo. I recently found some marriages for these LaClairs in Fremont Co, Iowa. Your Sarah married Joseph Valender (on the record) 7 January 1854. My Susan or Louise as she was also known on land record and her cemetery stone was listed as Lueany (a transcription....anxious to see the actual film) LeClerk who married Eli Plante 13 July 1857...this matches perfectly with the fact that their daughter was born 9 months later. Then a sister married a William Kensler (listed as Kimber on this transcription)..they list her as Hargette LeClair married October 31, 1854. Peter LaClare, a brother married Adaline Duncan 1 June 1857. I found some information from a researcher recently who is deceased that says that there was a Lillian Eulalie LeClaire who marrried a Louison Le Compte. Julia married Peter LIvemore. There was also a Henrietta who died young in Rulo NEbraska. Susan, Henrietta, Peter and the children of the Kenslers all got land grants in about 1857 in Rulo, Nebraska. I am so anxious to know how you know those names of the mother of these LeClaire's??I have seen Iron Cedar Womenand Crow Feather etc posted but have not had luck on finding the sources. Really anxious to hear from you. Susan Murphy I wonder if the Antoine LeClair is somehow connected to this family?
