Hi Gary:
My great great grandmother (maternal line) resided in Mequon, Wisconsin and was married to Gottlieb Otto. He was a Civil War Veteran Wisconsin Infantry. They are buried behind St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery on Mequon Road and Port Washington Road in Mequon, WI.
Margarethe Lederer-Otto born February 8, 1849 and died October 4, 1926.
I am wondering if she was a sister to any of the other Milwaukee area Lederer's. She was from Bavaria, Germany and spoke low German. I am searchin for any of her brothers, sisters, and especially her parents. They might have stayed in Germany, I do not know for certain.
I have a photograph of Margarethe and Gottlieb and I have a photo of their gravestone. I also have photos of other Lederer's gravestones buried in the same cemetery.
Because back in the day, most farm families had lots of kids, I think all of those in Cedarburg-Mequon-Milwaukee areas could be related.
Would like to hear back from you on any thoughts you might have.
Linda Christ
