cane of horn and bone
Trying different way to find relatives of Richard Harry Clifford, whose mother was a St. Ledger/St. Leger/Ledger/Leger.
In 1921, Richard made seven canes from rounds of cow-horn from Texas long-horn cattle brought to the railhead in the panhandle of Oklahoma in the last long-horn cattle drive. He used the horns clipped from the cattle before being put on the railroad cars. The handles were made of bone, the horn-rounds being placed for each cane on an iron rod the top end of which was drilled into the bone-handle. He kept one cane and sent the others to relatives, one we know going so far north as Canada. Do any Clifford/Ledger/leger descendents out there have such a cane?
