Hi Jan i Have met the granddaughter of James Dudley and Eliza Ann Smoots (Mitchell) Ransom. She lives in Morgan Co. Alabama not to far from me. She is in her 80's very aware and active. she has the buggy seat her and grand dad used to ride them in. she gave me a copy of her mamma Smoots as she say all called her. Her name is Margaret cuttley. There are so many stories on stuff i have been working on some of this for years i have the married lic. of my gg grandmother amy or Annie Ransom. 1 husband was a Davie wilkes m 1837 he was a very old man she was 17 he was her mother,s sisters husband who had died he own a tavern here in Cotago Al. in 1840 she married James m. Ransom.
