Hi Jerry, I'm connected to your Leffler tree through the marriage of Jacob Rizor and Elizabeth Leffler. This is the first time I have seen the direct connection.I have a copy of Jacob Rizor's will and a land transfer at Dutch Fork from 1825 that states the relationship between Jacob and Elizabeth back to the Leffler's.
In addition, I have copies of a few pages from a book that lists the births, baptism dates and deaths at "The Olde Reformed Church, Funkstown" Maryland, near Hagerstown, MD. It was translated from German in the 30' or 40's as I recall. Of interest are: 1) John Jacob Huyert (Hewitt)of Peter Huyert and Magdalena Bapt Apr 17,1774 age 3 mos; spon: Jacob Loessler and wife Margaretha 2) Elizabeth Loessler; of Jacob and Margaretha bapt Apr 1st, 1774 age 2 mos; Spon: Parents 3) John Jacob Reysser and Elizabeth bapt Apr 30 1773; died jul 20, 1773. Spon: Jacob Loessler and wife Elizabeth. 4) John Roeser (Reysser, Rizor) of Jacob Roeser and Elizabeth b Apr 6, 1776; spon: Jacob Loessler.
The names and dates for the Reysser (Roeser) death and births correspond with those I have found in my Rizor research.
I also have copies of "Early Day Settlers on Dutch Fork and Buffalo Creeks, Washington County, PA by Lester Smith that chronicle the arrival of the Swiss Leffler group in Dutch Fork from near Hagerstown, MD. My Jacob Rizor arrived at the same time.
Do you have any supportive evidence of the Jcob Rizor & Elizabeth Leffler Marriage?
