Hello Craig & Lynne, I picked out this e-mail string to respond to, as Craig mentioned a Martha Walker, 1806-1843. I will offer some other items that might potentially tie in even more family. I would be very interested in finding out the siblings of this Martha Walker.
My 3x great grandfather William G. Walker b. SC about 1803. Wm Walker married Margaret Wagnon on May 06, 1822 in St. Clair County, Alabama. They removed to Pickens Co, AL shortly after marriage. Found again in 1850 in Montgomery Co, AR. census, with my 2X gr-grandfather Bailis E. Walker. Bailis E. Walker married Amanda P. Hardage and fathered 4 children, one was my ge-grandfather, Joseph B. Walker. Joseph B. married Hannah McClard and fathered Amanda Walker, Sarah Matilda Walker, Cadder E. Walker, John A. Walker and Charley M. Walker. Charley was my grandpa. Sarah Matilda will tie in again later down this note.
Margaret Wagnon-Walker's brother was the Baylous Wagnon that, I believe, married one Elizabeth Ann LeFlore. There are indications that the Walkers, Wagnons & LeFlores & other families traveled/moved together for a number of generations. Mississippi> Arkansas> some to Texas and some to Oklahoma.
I believe that Clarissa LeFlore was a daughter of Louis LaFleur/LaFlore and Rebecca Cravat. I need verification for this.
Clarissa married one Jeremiah Gardner abt. 1827 in LeFleurs' Bluffs, Mississippi and had children named William A. Gardner, Greenwood Gardner, Jincy Gardner that I know of... I'm sure there were probably more.
William A. Gardner married Mary (Polly) Ann Wilson abt.1850 in Eagletown, Choctaw Nation. They had children named Salina, Clarissa (Clara), Rodolphus C. Gardner, Sarah, Brazile L. Gardner & Winnie Amelia Gardner. Clarissa(Clara) Gardner married Deputy US Marshall Jim Hutchinson. They had Ollie & Stella Hutchinson. Margaret Wagnon-Walker's gr-grand daughter, Sarah Matilda Walker married Ollie Hutchinson. Sarah Matilda Walker was my Grand Aunt.
This Gardner family has a Choctaw Principal Chief or two in their lineage, as I understand the LeFlores have. Hoping I haven't bored you to sleep... I just wanted to get this into writing and pose my few questions.
I would appreciate any information on the Martha Walker born abt 1803 and her family. Also, any verification for the parentage of Elizabeth Ann LeFlore and Clarissa LeFlore.
