I can solve part of the mystery, but there are some details that are still puzzling. Simon Leinbach of Reading, PA married Elizabeth Achenbach of Germantown, OH in Reading, in 1855. They had 3 sons, 2 of whom died young. The only surviving one was John (sometimes listed as Simon John). He lived in Reading and never married. According to the records of Rev. T. T. Iaeger, Elizabeth married Christopher (or Christian?) Slough in Reading in 1872. You said that Elizabeth died in 1870 leaving 5 children, but the court case is for Christian vs. Elizabeth. That sounds like a divorce or challenge to an estate. Do you have copies of the court records? Perhaps Elizabeth Achenbach was a daughter of Elizabeth Slough? Are there Achenbach/Slough marriages in Montgomery Co. The names are close enough that I feel certain this is the same family, but we need to research the court records a little more. Email me.
