In March of 1848, measles took the life of two young children of Tobias Lemly:Laura Lemly(youngest daughter) and Albert Gallatin Lemly (youngest son). From this phrasing in the obit, it appears there were older children.
I don't know where the title "General" came from, perhaps the Mexican War.His father was Col. Samuel Lemly and his mother was Elizabeth Furr, d/o Tobias Furr, all originally from Rowan Co. NC.
I would love to hear from researchers of this NC to MS Lemly family. The name is often spelled Lemley.
