Edward Leveston - (1841-1883) London to Adelaide
Edward Leveston (could be Livingston) was born in 1841, possibly London. He married Ann (poss Hannah) Oakley of Shoreditch about 1861.

A daughter, Maria Sarah Leveston was born in 1862 and for a while the family lived in Charles Street, Mile End Old Town.
Three other children were born between 1864 and 1867.
Edward's occupation was listed as a perfumer. This is unusual, but may indicate a carryover from the days of perfumed wigs, and could suggest a hairdresser.
When the mother Ann died in 1876, it seems Edward and the children went to Glasgow perhaps to visit relatives. I have a photo of Maria Sarah as a teenager with the mark of a Glasgow photographer.
Around 1880, after the death of the youngest child Edward migrated with his remaining children to South Australia. Unfortunately, shipping records for South Australia were destroyed in a fire.
Within three years of arrival, all but Maria had died. Her brother was drowned in a boating accident, her sister died of typhoid and Edward died of consumption.
Maria Sarah married William Jones. They are my wife's great grandparents.
It's sad that there story is the first in this forum, but I hope someone can help.
