Miss Susan LEVIER was born south of Horton in Atchison county, April 16th, 1890, lived 21 years, 5 months and 18 days and died, Friday, October 13, 1911, at 12 o'clock a.m., at her stepfather's house, Peter Jackson's. She lived with her parents until death, her father, Joe Levier, died Feb. 2, 1909, her parents moved to the Potawatomi reservation in the spring of 1904, been here ever since. The deceased was a bright young lady, for many years she attended Kickapoo and Haskell schools. Susan was a member of the Catholic church and was a good Catholic, she was buried Saturday at 4 o'clock in the Joh Shipshe Catholic cemetery on the reserve, Rev. Father Murphy of Emmett preached the funeral, a big crowd of indians and whites attended the service. Tuberculosis was the cause of death, she has been sick for many months and suffered a great deal. Her father having died some years ago her mother married Peter Jackson in the fall of 1909.
