(06/22/2003)Moise Dreyfus Levy, M.D., was born September 22, 1918, in Galveston, Texas, and passed away on June 15, 2003, in South Austin Hospital. Moise was the son of Dr. Moise D. Levy, Sr. and Sara W. Levy. Dr. Levy graduated in 1942 from the UT Medical School in Galveston, and spent his internship and residency in the St. Louis City Hospital. From 1945 until 1947, he served in the Army Medical Corps. In 1948, Dr. Levy trained in rheumatology in New York City. Dr. Levy is survived by two sons, Dr. Moise L. Levy and wife Joanie of Houston, and Richard J. Levy and wife Anne of Dallas; three sisters, Melanie Malewitz in Austin, Sara Jo Robbins and husband Leonard of Cleveland, Texas, Justine Bennett of Colorado Springs; by four grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Levy in Houston, Carrie Isaacman in New York Cty, and Jonathan Isaacman in Los Angeles; twelve nieces and nephews; and cousins in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at the Cook-Walden Rockwood Lane Funeral Home, 7811 Rockwood Lane in Austin.
